I still can’t believe this is true. A few years ago I started thinking about writing a book that would honor my brother and his legacy, help people understand 9/11 from a family perspective, and share my journey of grief and hope. Not only has that book published and out in the world right around the 25th anniversary of 9/11, it is now in the 9/11 Memorial and Museum bookstore. It is quite an honor and it just feels right. This book should be in there. It covers a difficult day and a difficult journey but also gives a roadmap to hope.
I think my brother would be proud that this book has been written and that it’s actually on site at the museum and memorial. The term full circle moment is overused in my mind but this felt like one to me. I have been attending the anniversaries on and off for 25 years. I love that place, it is beautiful and powerful and my brother’s final resting spot. So to be there, holding my book, indeed full circle.
