I had the honor of sharing my story with the people of Timberline Church. Persevering through loss is only a small part of the equation. What you do with that knowledge is where you have the greatest impact.

 

Learning to persevere, create character I didn't have previously, and rebuild hope has made a huge difference in my life, but sharing it allows that impact to grow.

 

I have been able to walk many people through loss, through their storms. There is a Chinese proverb: If you want to know the road ahead, ask those coming back. I didn't do that for so long, I suffered in isolation.

 

Eventually I learned that the most courageous thing you can say is help. I now consider myself one of those that is coming back down the path. What an amazing and unexpected outcome of this journey of weathering my storms.
